RED RAIDER 4 LIFE

RAIDERS FALL TO BLOOMSBURG!

The big play bug struck again as the Raiders gave up multiple 70+ yard plays to Bloomsburg. Minus the big plays the Raiders could have been in this game, they only trailed by a field goal going into the 4th quarter, but a turnover in the endzone and a missed field goal prevented a rally. Bloomsburg scored it’s final touchdown when Ship turned the ball over on downs inside their own 10 yard line when they were forced to go for it on 4th and long. Once again, the defense played a solid game minus the big plays. The offense continued to struggle at times but performed better in the second half bringing the Raiders within 3 point at 13-10. Check out the full recap at the link below. The Raiders play their final home game Saturday vs. East Stoudsburg. It is senior recognition day, so come out and cheer on the seniors and the Raiders!

EAST STROUDSBURG SCOUTING REPORT

We’ve all been there, you hate losing. It can cause problems in the locker room and can effect performance on the field. The only way to combat those problems is by winning or having a winning attitude even in the face of adversity. Coach Burket this week talks about the attitude of the Raiders and how they have gone into each week with a good attitude and prepared to work hard for the next contest. The challenge doesn’t get any easier as 7-1 East Stroudsburg comes to town. They’ve put up over 250 yards rushing in three straight games. The Raiders are in the middle of the pack in the PSAC in rushing defense but last in pass defense. Big plays have been a problem, defending them and generating them on offense. It’s the Raiders final home game, this will be a tough test. Come out and support the seniors in their final home game.

LIVE LIKE LEVI SWEATSHIRT CAMPAIGN CRUSHES ITS GOAL

The RR4L Live Like Levi Sweatshirt campaign surpassed it’s goal of raising over $8,000 to provide Live Like Levi sweatshirts to the football program. Thanks to the contributions of our RR4L family we were able to provide the players and coaches of the football program with sweatshirts commemorating the life of coach Mac’s son, Levi Maciejewski. In addition to the sweatshirts, proceeds from the campaign will go to support the Levi Maciejewski Memorial Fund which is being used to support youth programs and facilities in the Shippensburg community. Thanks to all of those who made a contribution to support this campaign.

RR4L board member George Wise (NT ‘82) and RR4L family member Ed Brown (DE ‘84 HOF) were at the Raider practice prior to the Shepherd game to talk to the team and to assist in the presentation of the sweatshirts. A sweatshirt was placed in every players locker as they returned from their Friday practice. Thanks again to our RR4L family for your support.

A Letter From Coach Mac

To our football family,

We are overwhelmed with the turnout by our football alumni this past weekend at the Clarion game. Our hearts were full knowing that Levi was looking down on us in the win and we were able to share the moment with our Raider football family.  Seeing so many former Raiders on the sideline and after the game was special.

Tricia, Brady and I want to thank everyone in our football family for their amazing support over the past few weeks as we mourn the loss of our sweet son Levi.  I can’t begin to express the pain and sorrow that we feel at this time, but your prayers, thoughts and hugs have meant the world to all of us. You are helping us to cope with this situation by lifting some of the pain and sorrow off of our shoulders.  As a family, we will continue to cherish and honor Levi and we are so thankful to have our football family at our side as we move forward.  As in any family, we all share in the hurt with the loss of our son, please continue to keep Levi and our family in your prayers.  Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts, we know that Levi is with us just as all of you are with us.

We love all of you,

Coach Mac, Tricia & Brady

In Memory of Levi Maciejewski

Levi James Maciejewski, child of God and follower of Christ, went to be in the arms of Jesus on Aug. 20, 2024, at the age of 13.
He was born on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, in Chambersburg, a son of Mark S. and Tricia L. (Koons) Maciejewski.
A beloved student at Shippensburg Area Middle School, he was known by many for his infectious smile and big heart. He was an outdoorsman at heart, who loved spending time on the family farm in Punxsutawney. Levi's love for sports, especially baseball, football, and golf, reflected not only his amazing athletic abilities, but also his strong work ethic and admirable sportsmanship. He excelled in the Shippensburg Little League, travel baseball, and Shippensburg Midget Football programs and was eager to become a Shippensburg Greyhound. Levi also enjoyed giving back to his community by helping coach both flag football and midget football teams.
